I would have to agree with you about 845 since RDRAM only beats DDR in performance by 10% and SDRAM by 25%. Since RDRAM prices and 850 chipset mainboard manufacturing costs are still relatively higher than performance gains, RDRAM will not cut it in mass market unless the price performance ratios change. I just don't see it happening. The value segment of PC market is become more competitive than Intel had presumed even 3 months ago let again 3-4 years ago when RDRAM seems to be Intel's memory choice.
