Those governments that you called "our democracies" are not always democratic

The democracies I referenced are two--yours and mine. If there are any places on Earth where people have the wherewithal to get along, they would be Canada and the U.S. Regardless of what any deities have to say on the subject or the interpretations of their mouthpieces, there is only one way for people of multiple religions to get along in peace and that is to treat religion as a private matter. That may not be the optimum solution for those who want to do things their way at the expense of others, but I know of no other way to make things work for everyone. So we can treat religion as a private matter or we can jockey for position into the next millennium. Of all the problems we have in our democracies, this one is the easiest, IMO, to solve and I wish we'd just do it.
