Did I make a lot out of quoting accurately when it didn't matter ethically or logically? I'm unaware of that, and apologize. When did i do it? It is my belief that when an inaccuracy was objected to by me, it was because it was substantive, prejudicial and, often, scurrilous. Do you or any other person on this thread have some examples of a meaningless, harmless misquote I "made so much out of" ? Just a couple?

One?

So! In your first opinion, you resolve the issue in my favor, even though implying that it was an enjoyable (implies legitimate and reputable) ploy by your friend.

It probably is legitimate to do that to me, in argument, if I do the same to others. I'd agree with that!

Have I?

Where?

Anyone, you or anyone else, care to show me where I objected lengthily to ("made so much of") a MEANINGLESS (according to Neocon and me) misquote?

See how complex it gets, Neocon?

You have answered honestly that it was meaningless.

But in order to support your friend, you had to claim legitimacy for his tactic.

To do that, you had to pretend I am in the habit of doing something similar.

I'm sure you have no objection to quotes if they make a legitimate, meaningful point. I'm sure it's just "making so much" of meaningless, harmless, inadvertent quotation errors to which you object.

Is that a fair thing to say?

I used the word 'pretend' above. Maybe it is unfair. I will certainly retract it and apologize when you show me the basis for your implication that i have done such things in argument.

One single example of me "making much" of a similarly meaningless, harmless, inoffensive, distortion, misquote, or error.

One.
