Actually I work in a big chain pharmacy store right now. I responded because it irks me when the management at the drugstore complains about the help they hire (lazy, irresponsible etc.), yet offer no sort of stability in return. My issue is not so much with their wage, because 5.50 to 6.15 is really the same thing, but with the expectation that the workers should provide more competent work when they are getting very little respect, compensation or future opportunity in return. Perhaps my comments are a bit off the topic you were discussing however.

If I ever did start my own pharmacy I would pay my cashiers and techs more than the going rate though. I would want dedicated and happy employees that I could trust. Employees who I respected and who respected me. I would want lower turn over rates so I would not need to train new hires all the time. Perhaps this is a pipe dream, but I think in the long run it might turn out to be good business.
