True but apparently company A is not going to wait around and let this happen. They are slashing prices as a pre-emptive strike against losing market share.
Company A has had a pretty good juggling act as far as holding up margins but this is more difficult now and secondary to holding off Company B.
Clearly Intel is h$ll bent on protecting territory...more so than ever. Do you ever remember them selling there flagship chip for <$300?
I remember Pentium 200s for $525...more in todays dollars.
