cj, XBox has an integrated GeForce3 and Crush has a GeForce2 and that sorta makes this difficult, especially if there is a 12 month delay for a Crush-like chipset with a GeForce3. 12 month delay compared starting when? Starting today would not be so bad. XBox is set for Christmas shopping season, so there is plenty of time for the chipset folks at NVidia to catch up, especially based on the fact that they are working with fully functioning components. The Crush chipset is the first one from NVidia, so they were conservative and went for a proven graphics core. If their entry to the PC chipset market is successful, I would expect a faster turnaround in bringing the latest graphics technology from standalone graphics cards to chipsets. And a thing to consider is the fact that XBox will be a platform that will be frozen for at least 2 years before XBox 2 comes out. Besides, Microsoft would have to cooperate. XBox is not software compatible with Windows of any stripe. Yeah, I know, dumb decision by Microsoft, but there it is... I have not really followed the software side, but my impression is that it is a subset of Win2K, which should make it possible for the hackers to get XBox software work on a full Win2K. Joe
