I rarely get hung up on even semi-anonymous message board personalities -- you can practically get a new one on any street corner. Some of the nastiest people online are also some of the smartest, in my experience. If you have the truth, being nice about it is sometimes a luxury.

And as for evidence, what can be said here that hasn't been at least mentioned by the 14 columns Greenberg's mentioned AREM and/or its self-proclaimed white knight Irwin L Jacobs in the past couple of months?

Speaking of Jacobs, have you ever visited his website where he posts his proclamations regarding AREM, CNC, Greenberg, etc? Auric wishes he could be that megalomaniacal. IMO, the guy's convinced himself he singlehandedly saved Conseco (whether CNC is truly "saved" is still an open case, though), and now he thinks he can save any company and its stock just through the force of his personality.

My real money's as far away from this thing as it can get (barring some silly run like KREM/KKD just had), but my phantom money is on Greenberg on this one. I just can't see the Bulgarians' incentive to lie about this, at least not in the way they are supposedly doing so. If they were going to lie about it, wouldn't they'd be more likely to overstate the amount they've paid (thus reducing their potential obligations) rather than understate it?
