I think the importance of these threads are over-rated. As you've observed, there are a lot of garbage postings. We're mostly nickel & dime traders on these threads, who view markets as a hobby.

As someone else mentioned, serious investors/traders likely only use these threads to get an idea of sentiment, not information or strategy. There are exceptions of course.

On the markets front, nice moves on the DOW this week. I still believe the TSE has far more upside potential, although at the moment people seem very cautious. Everything seems too good to be true in the minds of some. Next Tuesday will settle where markets are headed for the summer, IMHO of course.
