I know other people get it but the statistics that are unbiased still show the mix is heavily weighted towards IV drug use and Homosexuals at least in "civilized" nations.
The China contaminations was in poor backward towns where plasma was sold by pooling everyone's blood in a tub then after separating the plasma, it was pumped back into the villagers. No separation of donors. I get a mix of everyone's blood in town. Come on, if it wasn't AIDS, it would have been hepatitus or some other disease. That was just plain stupid.
In Africa, the AIDS epidemic is being over touted. More deaths occur from Malaria in a week than of AIDS in a year. Again, the ignorance in the place is a heavy contributer. Heck the darn leader of a nation claimed that it was caused by poverty and not by HIV. When the smartest guy in charge can't figure it out, what do you expect from the rest of the nation? Darwinism at it's finest.
The Thailand ( and Phillipines also if you have ever seen Angel City near Clark AFB) is a shame and it isn't really the hookers faults but again, life style and morals versus results.
As for the various studies here in teh US, the government in their usual effecient fashion mostly took the word of their patients as to if they used drugs or were gay. Follow up studies have shown many of these people lied for various reasons. Military didn't want to admit they were gay, CEOs, etc. nor admit to drug use. Of course these stats get hushed up by activists. The actual percentage of straight non drug using people that get AIDS is very very low but they get hyped up pretty well. It is just like all these school shootings. More kids choke and die eating hot dogs or from getting hit in the head by a baseball during a game than get shot in a school but you never hear about that. Same with AIDS. Heart disease, Lung cancer, Diabetes, Breast cancer, various other cancers kill far more than AIDS. Yet the liberals scream so loud that AIDS research gets a disproportionate amount of funding.
Still, AIDS does scare the heck out of me ever since I watched an excellent lecture by a scientist at Washington University. AIDS mutates faster than any other virus we have seen up to now. His main point stressed was that in 100 years or as I am typing this, AIDS could mutate to a form that could be transmitted by insect bite, a sneeze or a touch of a hand. It is constantly creating new strains and eventually it will figure out another way to be transmitted and it will find ways to avoid being cured even when an initial cure is found.
I agree AIDS is scary but the current statistics being touted are mainly to get press attention and full of errors. Besides as I said earlier, it isn't exactly affecting the cream of the crop of society. I would be much more happy if we could find a cure to counter act the dumbing down of America.
