I can't help but gather that the tone of your address indicates a dismissive attitude toward the concerns expressed by these people. Do you think they have no cause for concern? or that they have no right to concern? or is it just that you don't care?

You seem to indicate that for the secular citizens to express their opinions or feelings is odious and noxious. Why are their voices so easily dismissed? Are their concerns "trivial" or "not pressing?" Well, perhaps a high handed approach is best in dealing with the annoyance of the secular. However, if the state of NOT being explicitly granted the rights of religious groupings remains unreflected in written law--and if this is "trivial" for secularists--then I am sure you will admit that the same omissions and affronts would be "trivial" to the religious groups whom do have have their principles and rights codified to their benefit? In light of this, I trust you can be counted on to assist us in removing this "trivial" bias--in the interest of preserving the kindness, the consideration, and the sense of equal citizenship which exists between believers, believers, believers, and non believers.

Remember, the belief system/world view of all citizens is being codified and accommodated in hard text here (even if their religious belief is only shared by a handful of people). To withold this sense of inclusiveness from the remaining citizens, because their world view is "atheistic" or "agnostic," would seem to be a trivial insistence. Removing a trivial and merely apparent advantage ought not to cause a modicum of consternation within the religious community. They will surely recognize that they are not sacrificing anything beyond a "trivial" and "not pressing" distinction. I appreciate your catholic even-handedness here. Thank you.
