You should have the driver on the install disk. However,if not you can find it at the above site. Modems can be zapped by power surges via the telephone line and age would not be a factor. If convenient, go buy one for $20 and see if it works. I suspect the 3 Com modem has a diagnostic program which would provide info about its working condition. See if you can locate that already installed on your computer.
