Sig, Hi!! RE: If a Committee votes whether to end production of IBM PC now, it would probably be a 'No" vote. Dell is turning up the heat each day tho, so IBM P/C profits are going to get worse, not better. They will have to guess when and if the loss will approach $1bil/yr. Who is the one man in IBM .that can make the decision, end the ERA. ? My suggestion is they don't end the name- just have Dell build the units (deep blue?) and slap an IBM logo on them. They are going to have those $26 bil worth of IBM parts that Dell is buying inside them anyway. This would bring up a sticky point, where would Dell build them and with what employees.? So I guess Management in both companies have decisions to make. Lets get the suffering over with, make an announcement at the July meeting. 50 bucks here we come.(G) Well, we know from Michael's statement in that interview last week that they planned for the continued economy expansion and not this slow down...So did many others...I'll always believe that they planned for IBM giving these up two years ago...What went wrong and why the delay? Some day it'll come out...Rumors up here were so plentiful two years ago even those not owning any stock had heard about IBM giving it away to DELL... Best, Kemble
