At least we are agreed that neither of us knows of any legal impediments to atheists holding public office

No we don't; and it was not an argument from the web site, so it is irrelevent. The web site referred to a Constitution that reflected a bias. It really ought to be cleared up before it gets reflected in laws. Who knows in what year the subjective religious world view might make a clean sweep? Would this Constitution then serve the best interests of rationality, and objectivity, and equality? In any case, what could possibly be an objection to removing the insult and the bias...NOW or SOON??? Does it cost a great deal to stop spitting on people?? Why should the non religious need to endure the insult of such a Constitution when the correction requires only a modicum of RESPECT for fellow citizens. To hell with the statutes. You don't intentionally leave insults in the Constitution. If a Christian's beliefs were being thus insulted--every wiener dog in the State would be yapping.
