Two of the world's largest insurers, one in the UK and one in Germany, have done a risk analysis of the global warming issue based on the current models that you believe are incorrect. They are not evaluating the science, of course. But they must have felt there was enough validity to the science to invest in the project in the first place. By their calculations, the cost of being wrong about this--of doing nothing--will be nothing short of global economic catastrophe. That's a big bet.
