something is going on at wcom.....
But a large trade in WorldCom Inc (WCOM) options at the Pacific Exchange was a highlight, the traders said.

The WorldCom June 30 call traded 17,800 contracts and the June 25 call traded about 10,325 by afternoon.

A market maker in the options said an investor was putting on a position, selling the June 25 calls and buying the June 30s in a three-by-two ratio.

WorldCom shares were up 5/16 at 29-7/8 after reaching a new high for the year at 30-1/16.

``It's pretty optimistic,'' the market maker said of the options play, which has just a week to be profitable as June options expire at the end of next week.

He added that other than the big WorldCom trades, activity was relatively quiet.
