From RealMoney.com Herb on the Street: thestreet.com Unappetizing: California Pizza Kitchen (CPKI:Nasdaq - news - boards) warned this morning that same-store sales are falling. Falling same-store sales are not what you want to see with a restaurant chain. If it's not good news for CalPizza, it can't be good news for the likes of P.F. Chang's (PFCB:Nasdaq - news - boards), Cheesecake Factory (CAKE:Nasdaq - news - boards) and Buca (BUCA:Nasdaq - news - boards), which operates Buca di Beppo. All of these are concept-type restaurants whose stocks have been defying a deterioration in earnings growth. (And we're not even talking about the impact of higher energy costs, a rising minimum wage and -- in California -- upwardly spiraling workers' comp costs.)
