Junior's mother told him his own past is coming back to haunt him. This was in the national news. I think she was right and a lot more of his past will be haunting him in the future.

His popularity is not high right now, I think it is about tied with the other 2 least popular presidents at this point in their presidency. One of those 2 unpopular presidents (at 4 months into their presidency) was Bill Clinton who turned out to be one of the most popular presidents of the second half of the 20th century.

Sometimes I feel Junior is allowing certain things to get much worse than what he should so his backers can be repaid for their support. By acting in this manner he is trying to strike a balance between paying back those companies which supported him and still being a re-electable president. If things go the way he plans he will have something to point at and say "look how great my presidency is, look what I did about that." For instance, the price gouging he is turning a blind eye to which involves his friends in the electric business from Texas who are gouging Californians for all they are worth. When this situation starts to negatively affect his popularity to a degree which he can no longer bear he will step in and stop the gouging and make the electric companies give back a portion of their ill-gotten gains. That way they will still make greater profits than they ever envisioned and Junior will stand back and try to take credit for being on the consumers side.

The American public wants a moderate president. Junior ran as a moderate. He is well on his way to proving he is way to the right of his father and even to the right of that actor who played the part of the president. He is a right winger who has surrounded himself with other right wingers.

He has got a lot of backtracking to do before his popularity ever reaches anywhere near what Clintons rose to.
