Aus,

Another comment from SNDK employees (not Dr. Harari in his presentation) that I forgot to mention in my summary is that there are independent tests which show that there is no practical difference in speed between SNDK and Lexar CF cards for most cameras. But one of the reasons why Lexar is faster in the Nikon cameras is that Nikon has a unique system (software or "firmware", I assume) which makes all CF cards slower except where the CF manufacturer "tweaks" the controller for use in the Nikon cameras. Thus, Lexar is tweaking their cards for Nikon and has faster speed. I sure wish SNDK would work harder to keep the consumers aware of these issues by at least providing information on the independent tests. Such efforts would help strengthen SNDK's brand in the marketplace.

Finally, several employees mentioned that they follow this SI thread, but I lamented that the activity level has fallen off like the stock price.
