I read a lot here about Globalstar being competition with Iridium, etc. I don't see where there is that much overlap of their respective target markets. Iridium, at about $3 per minute to the wealthy globetrotter, is catering to a different market from Globalstar's target group -- the unwealthy regions without basic phone service, an area that I believe Iridium is scarcely addressing, nor can it with such a high cost structure. Have I got this right?

One other glaring difference is the cost and current financing. After its recent oversubscribed bond offering, Globalstar needs only $175 million more to complete its $2.5 billion system. Iridium needs billions more, and it will have to show investors there's lots of room for more than one company to make piles of money.

So what's this competition thing?
