Hi Mark and all,

Since we're on the topic of modems, perhaps someone can help me with the following problem that just started a few weeks ago with Internet Explorer (ver. 5.00.2614.3500IC... customized version for Mindspring.com ISP) running on WIN98SE with an external 56k Courier V. Everything modem. I have never had a problem accessing a website, however, although IE is obviously working or I could not be sending this post, certain URLs (such as www.classmates.com and www. freerealtime.com suddenly... as of a few weeks ago... refuse to come up).

As an example, the following is what I get after trying to reach www.classmates.com (get the same thing with www. freerealtime.com except it says to try to go to quotes.freerealtime.com and I end up with the same message.

Click the Back button to try another link.
Click Search to look for information on the Internet.

Clicking on the suggested link produces the same result. I know the sites are up and running as I have had friends try them on their computers and they have had no problems.

Sorry for the long post, but I would sincerely appreciate any suggestions. Since I never had any problems accessing these sites until a couple of weeks ago, I wonder if it's a problem with my IE and is there a way to repair it without losing my favorites?

Many thanks for any help offered,

Marty
