In hostage situations, police routinely use the death penalty threat in negotiations with perpetrators. On another point you made in an earlier post, I think you are wrong. There has not been a single documented case of a proven innocent being executed in this country in the past 50 years. This despite rigorous research studies by anti-death penalty groups. If you can find one, please let us know.
