last time i checked you still need lead for car batteries and zinc is still used to galvanize steel for cars and construction. last time i checked we still used rubber for tires. last time i checked demand for automobiles in developing economies is skyrocketing. last time i checked the prices of zinc. lead, and rubber were severely depressed. and last time i checked production of zinc and lead were still falling due to low prices and high electricity costs. i think it's just a matter of when, not if we see a nice rise in the prices of those metals.
