TC,
RE:"As for moving forward, Intel is proceeding on several fronts. As a shareholder for 27 years, I'm relatively satisfied."

I suppose so...<G> I can remember back in the 80's when it seemed Intel was going up $10 a day. I don't see that kind of growth again unless they find some new market to conquer.

RE:"As an AMD shareholder, for far less time, I'm probably going to sell everything. I just don't think they can compete head-to-head on enough fronts."

I understand that too... About all AMD has been is a trading stock. Wouldn't you say they are doing better on more fronts than they were just a few months ago? Yes, they have an uphill battle to take ANY server share. Notebook share will be a lot easier.
Overall, I think they can hold their own and even pick up some more market share.
OTOH, this doesn't make them a great investment by a long shot. Certainly there are better pickings out there.
So find us the next Intel.

One inspiring thing about the tech industry is the pure competitive spirit. True american entreprenurial spirit.
Overall it's good but sometimes it can retard real progress when there is just hole covering rather than true innovation. Intel has been a bit guilty of this of late.
