I don't know about that. AMD may be battling VIA and Intel at the low-end and that means $29-$100 may be the low-end price point for some time to come. The puzzler to me is why AMD did not release a 1Ghz Duron by now. If I were AMD, I would have 4 speed grades for Duron now. 800MHz for $30. 900MHz for $50. 1 G for $70 and 1.1 G for $100. With such a price structure VIA and Intel can't do much and that should let AMD sell out entire Duron production and more.

It is incredible how bad AMD marketing is.
