maverick,

You are dead right on who is to blame for the California energy crunch. It's California and no one else.
They are trying to blame anyone else but themselves but it won't wash.

They haven't elected leaders, who would pass energy legislation that makes sense but in the meanwhile they have been boasting to all and sundry that they lead the world in IT and software but cannot pay their own power bill.

False bravado and false pride always lead to a fall and they've had this one coming for a while. They played NIMBY for 10 years and didn't build a power plant, so why are they surprised now that they have a shortage of electricity.?

What is more concerning is that they still do not seem to see any way out of their own mess and continue to blunder around looking for scapegoats. It won't work, everyone else has to pay for their energy consumption, so why not Californians.??
When they are prepared to pay the piper they can get back to calling the tune.!
