The USA is like a black hole, sucking money and talent in by the petabyte. Sure, other countries could make their places attractive and they try to do that, but the USA is pre-eminent, by a long way. Maybe USA voters will wreck the country, but there's no sign of it so far [not compared with other places anyway].
I can invest in Chile, Kiwiland, Japan or Russia. But none of them come close to what the USA offers in terms of legal strength, military strength, talent, financial strength, currency strength, political stability. The opportunities in the USA are huge. The USA companies are spreading their tentacles around the world. Sure, other companies do too, such as BP, Nokia.
Forever is a very long time and I don't think we will get to forever before cyberspace takes over from the USA. I expect that to happen by 2020 - the process is already well underway.
Extending to the sky and beyond is no problem. There are no boundaries. Not even human ability now that computers can out think us. Human muscle stopped being a limiting factor 100 years ago. Now, the human brain is being supplanted. The sky's not the limit.
The USA stockmarket is just warming up! True, other countries will benefit from the 2-edged sword effect and globalisation. But the likes of Intel, QUALCOMM, Texas Instruments, JDS Uniphase, Microsoft, Genentech, IDEC, Superconductor Technologies and the whole panoply of New Paradigm creators are dominating.
The dot.gone implosion doesn't mean cyberspace is slowing down. Nor that technology development is slowing. It's actually accelerating.
