Have you tried clearing your cache?

Select Internet Options from the Tools menu. Make sure the General tab is selected. Under Temporary Internet Files, click the Delete Files button. Select Ok. Click OK to close the Internet Options window. Try start/run/type in 'msinfo32'/click ok/tools/Internet explorer repair tool/repair internet explorer. Have you tried downloading a newer version of either the mindspring software or Internet Explorer? You can download and install a more recent version of IE5 from here.
