I have this subjective opinion not to invest in "the next MSFT" or the "Applied Materials of fiber optics". Think about the statement "Applied Materials of fiber optics". It says you should invest in AMAT to be sure. :)

PS: our free weekly local newspaper had a full page AMAT ad showing a Porsche. Many people just throw this paper away, so now I think Applied is just going for the publishers' goodwill.
