DJ TranSwitch Outlook -3: 2Q Order Cancellations 'Considerable'

07 Jun 16:48

Transwitch said second quarter results will be hurt by market weakness in
North America, which the company now sees spreading to parts of Asia.

In recent weeks the company has "deliberately accepted a considerable amount
of cancellations and push-outs" of second quarter orders, which it believes
will enable it "to take advantage of an eventual recovery."
TranSwitch said it seeks to identify areas with in the company where
improvements may be made and operating costs reduced.

In March, TransSwitch cut its first quarter earnings estimate and said it
expected "at best" a flat second quarter compared with first quarter results.

In the first quarter, its earnings were $6.1 million, or 7 cents a share
excluding items, on $38.7 million in revenue.
