Follow-up on Intel Exec Dissing Via Mike has found out this is official Intel doctrine ...when senior veep Anand Chandrasekher was asked to comment on claims that computers will run faster using the new VIA chipset than with Intel's home-grown 850, and was quoted in an interview with CNET as saying: "They're not licensed, and the performance claims they are making are bogus,"....we thought it was just another instance of what Intel likes to refer to as a loose cannon, firing from the hip. But no. On checking for the official party line with Chipzilla PR Central in Satan Clara, we received the reply: "I'll let Anand's statement stand as our official comment. Nothing to add at this point." So there we have it. Intel officially regards VIA's performance claims as bogus. The gloves are off, seconds out, round two…µ 213.219.40.69
