I just watched 48 hrs on TV. The subject was cyber stalking. I can't argue that steps to curb aren't good and that something is necessary. However State laws only apply within one State. It looks like a Federal law is needed. The flip side of this is what bothers me. I can see some ultra-libs using the cyber stalking issue as an excuse to promote a "protect us" solution and thus join the whacko environmentalists and anti-gunners in their mad rush to impose global government on everyone because of the world wide reach of the internet and thus the stalkers and thieves and terrorists, etc that use it. Meanwhile people give up their freedoms one by one and countries eventually give up their sovereignty in the name of order and "protection" of individual rights. Could it really come to that? Will probably the greatest invention to further freedom of expression and dissemination of thoughts and ideas become twisted into the chains that will imprison humanity in a single global fascist state? Somebody please wake me and tell me that I had a nightmare and not a premonition. Please... Chas
