Whitefish Montana is beautiful.......much better than Spokane and Sandpoint. There's a beautiful Lake and a great ski resort there. You're close to some great white water if you like adventure......it's where they filmed the movie,"River Wild". Lots of wildlife as you're near Glacier National Park with all it's wonder and gorgeous scenery. Grizzly and mountain goats abound. There's even a small casino in downtown Whitefish and the Black Bear Beer brewery is on the main drag. Check it out if you're in that area..it's not that far from Sandpoint. You can even drive up to Lake Louise in Banff or catch the Calgary stampede in a short few hours drive. If I was going to retire in a cold climate....that's where I'd go.
