I get that message an annoying number of times per week. I think from what I've gathered on this thread that I must be asking my computer to do too much. My resources show up as being "dangerously low" and I get a freeze.

My solution this week has been to keep fewer browsers open. I don't like it, but it seems to avoid the freezes.
