I am not expert in the oil market. As I understand it, anticipations of scarcity were reflected in the price, as a sort of averaging out of expected supply. Prices go up, demand goes down, reserves build, the scarcity is not as acute in the summer months. Now that it looks like the situation is not so dire, prices are dropping.....
