June 08, 2001 1:05 AM

HONG KONG -(Dow Jones)- HSI Services Ltd. said Friday China Unicom Ltd. (CHU) will be included as a constituent stock of the Hang Seng London Reference Index effective June 11.

The HSLRI monitors the price movements of Hang Seng Index constituents traded in London after the close of the Hong Kong market.

China Unicom was added to the Hang Seng Index, also compiled by HSI Services, June 1.

After the inclusion of China Unicom, there will be 29 constituent stocks in the HSLRI, accounting for around 96% of the market capitalization of the Hang Seng Index.

The four stocks that are on the Hang Seng Index but not the HSLRI are Pacific Century CyberWorks Ltd. (PCW), Television Broadcasts Ltd. (H.TEB), Henderson Investment Ltd. (H.HIN), and Dao Heng Bank Group Ltd. (H.DHB).

An HSI spokesman said Hang Seng Index constituents are included in the HSLRI if they are quoted on the London Stock Exchange.

HSI is a wholly-owned unit of Hang Seng Bank Ltd. (H.HSB).
