RE: But even the present is pretty amazing compared with information supply and communication a decade ago.

I agree. 10 years ago, when I got home from work, I did such silly things as ride my bike, play my guitar, bbq, etc. Now, I really never get home from work, as modern technology has insured that my work will follow me everywhere I go. I am guessing that by the time I die, cemeteries will be wired, so that even death will not free me from the grip of the internet, and the porno-pimps and spammers screaming for my attention.

Also, I note that the significant amount of SI activity occurs during normal business . 10 years ago, the only way to waste time at work was with Solitaire and Tetris. Now, all I have to do is "hot-key" to SI. Isn't modern technology great. Utopia, at last, we have found you.
