Well now you've got me laughing.

As Rabbi Hillel said, long before the new testament: "What is hateful to yourself do not do to another. This is the whole Torah, go and study it, the rest is commentary."

Torah? That is the Law. Jesus was doing the same thing as Hillel, summing up the Law, only the golden rule is actually #2. Thou shall Love the LORD thy God with all your heart and soul and mind is #1.

All the others were religious leaders. I thought religion was the problem? Now your saying it's the solution? Socrates was the only one that was not from an explicitly religious perspective. Simply saying that something is so, is a long way from demonstrating it has any kind of binding authority. Socrates says "DO NOT" But the question we're discussing, is "WHY NOT"?????

I am not surprised that man apart from the bible comes to similar moral conclusions. I argue that is exactly what one would expect if man were made in the image of a moral God. If you wish to continue to argue my side of the equation for me that's OK.

I am asking you to justify your position without resorting to anything except reason.

Clearly, you are using emotion to justify what you could not otherwise accomplish on the basis of reason alone. Quoting dead guys who all believed that morality was rooted in an ultimate and objective source of truth, tells me nothing about the validity of yours.
