bdog, Yes to both. I think both are a major cause of my resource problem but I don't know what to do about it. I have switched my TWS with IB to the stand alone version which I don't think is Java based. But that's the only place I know of that gives me a choice about Java. Streaming quotes are also a drain, but I gotta have 'em. I have a second machine and may give some thought to letting the stream run over there. It's an old, slow machine, but the stream should run fine if I don't ask it to do anything else. That would require me to split my cable modem for two machines and probably I'd need to network. Neither of which I have a clue about. Ideas? Ken
