Scumbria,

What a disgusting situation concerning the radioactive waste in Utah. To think it is traveling down the Colorado river has to be a criminal offense. The down stream recreational areas that are a part of that river structure makes the number of people in contact with that "hot" material fairly huge. Not to speak of the LA water supply.

I am not a physicist, but I can't believe that the situation described in your reference is anything but the description of a huge disaster. I can think of my own sister who just died of inflammatory breast cancer who spent alot of time camping in that area and boating on the waters of Lake Powell.

I was planning to raft down the Colorado through the Grand Canyon in the next year.....I'll rethink that trip now.

Canyonlands National Park and Arches National Park are ( or were) some wonders of nature.........absolutely beautiful areas unparalleled on earth. Moab is so unique and some of the best back roading in the country takes place there. Southern Utah is definitely a special place with some of the most beautiful red rock structures on earth. To harm any of it is criminal in my opinion.

How sad,
pat
