browser service pack stuff...

since some posts yesterday focused on service pack 2 for ie5.0, i decided i'd better catch up both win95 and win98se browsers with this sp. the win95 machine has a dial up (little connection on the prairie), and the 17.4mb download took in excess of four hours! yikes!

but i just let it do its thing over there in the corner while i had my fun on the w98se/w2k machine....

downloading sp2 with a cable modem was like living on another planet! it took less than 12 minutes. what a joy that is, after witnessing a 4+ hour download via dial up.

so now i've got my two back up operating systems all sweet with new service packs. but then i realized that i should have just taken my own darn advice from yesterday when i asked why not just install ie5.5? i have no answer for myself! <g3>

only real diff i've noticed in a few minutes of operation is that sp2 stuck a task scheduler icon in my system tray on both machines. it wasn't added to start up, just the systray.

this concludes another test of the service pack bandwagon....

:)
