FWIW, Sprint shows this 3G comparison chart from iGillotResearch sprintpcs.com It shows 1X averaging 64K, equaling EDGE and surpassing GPRS. It also shows 1XeV averaging 800K, much more than 250K for W-CDMA. But in the end its not going to be these peak and average speed numbers but how well they execute the service. Speed means nothing if the service is unreliable and makes customers unhappy. Also, all these technologies are so new that its hard to say what the average user experiance will be like until they try it.
