Someone came into the pit the other day that quoted some statistic that 80% of trades by daytraders are losing trades, and that they make their money on the remaining 20% profitable trades.

If I lost money on 80% of my trades I'd seriously question what the hell I thought I was doing.

The market isn't a slot machine.

An acceptable ratio would be 30% losers 70% winners. Otherwise you aren't cut out for it. If your ratio is no good, look at the loosers, not the winners.

Never question WHY you made money, always question why you lost it.
