I don't know if LASV has request the NASD to look into MM shorting on the OTC or not. I do know first hand that the NASD is getting a lot calls regarding shorting. I also know that there is a move to get Federal action to limit shorting.

The OTC gives MM a license to cheat, steal and lie all at the expense of the public. I have yet to see a market maker do what they are suppose to do, maintain an orderly market. If the MM were required by law to post EVERY BID AND ASK things might be different.

One way for LASV to catch the shorters with their hands dirty, is to request that actual certs be issued.

As CEO of a public company on the OTC BB, I did that very thing and "caught" a great number short. The MM makers did not like me for that, but then again I really did not care if they liked me or not. It stopped the shorting and moved the share price up. The shorters had to cover inorder to deliver the certs.
