Now, for the benefit of those opposed to the death penalty, I will give the strongest argument for not inflicting it: because society, in being magnanimous to the criminal, reveals the degree of reverence in which it holds human life, and recoils from avoidable bloodshed. However, for this to work properly, it is necessary that it be admitted that the perpetrator of a heinous murder deserves death, and the society is acting mercifully in not demanding the full measure of justice. Additionally, it is pointless to make such a show if we continue with a liberal abortion regime, thus showing a contempt for innocent human life that is at variance with our magnanimity for the criminal.Although an argument can be made for first term abortions, all others not involving medical emergency must be outlawed.
