Anyone,
I just got a new Dell Inspiron 2500 laptop. The default screen resolution is 800x600, which I hate. When I try to change it to a higher resolution, the background expands so that it's bigger than my screen. Therefore, I don't see the taskbar at the bottom of my screen. The left side, right side, and top of the background are similarly hidden. If I move the mouse-pointer to the bottom of the screen, the entire background scrolls down until the bottom of the background is reached and the taskbar appears. Same with the other 3 directions.

What I conclude from this is that when I increase the resolution, the number of pixels increases but the size of the pixels doesn't decrease. Is this just a limitation of my monitor or am I doing something wrong?
