So Palomino and Mustang were much more different than AMD suggested? If there was only the additional 2nd level cache (1 or 2 MB for Mustang), it shouldn't be too hard to cut it to 512kb or 256kb (very similar to Thunderbird -> Spitfire).

BTW, why was Mustang cancelled in the first place when it already taped-out in the 2nd half of 2000? Because AMD760MP was late? And why would AMD wait several months before deciding to switch to a mobile solution? It's really hard to understand the "logic" behind all these delays. I sincerely hope we don't have a similar story with the Hammer series.
