They are mostly stock, but there are some that reproduce there. You can kind of tell by looking at them if they've been released or not. Trout aren't indigenous to Missouri but there are some locations with populations that are strictly naturally reproducing -- Taneycomo isn't one of them, but it is nice. You aren't shoulder to shoulder. At night is really nice -- don't run into many folks. Winter and winter nights are even better ...

Fishing in Missouri is different. There are a few prominent hatches -- a white fly hatch in late August or early September is kind of neat -- but for the most part, I fish wet flies
