russ,

Being confused and knowing i missed the boat
and having to wait out this gold bear market
in the hope that my basket of apples has at
least one that is not rotten, well yup i did not
do any pre-study or any strategy investigation
and now have to hope that a strong bull gold
market will raise the levels and hope a couple
of my boats are still above the water level
and get included with the others to raise up
and get noticed.

Needless to say none of my holdings is included
in your "well diversified portfolio."

Your points about what should be done to select
what you buy is very detailed and i would expect
that it takes a lot more time than most are willing
to invest before they invest. It will be interesting
to compare selections between you and others
like Claude later to see return on investment numbers.
I realize that it may be comparing apples & oranges
since safety and duration of a hold and maybe even
one wanting to go in and out repeatly could render
a comparison meaningless. Guess maybe the best
way to view yours and those of like Claude is to see
how many companies fit into catagories like Failed,
Bought-Out, return a small return or a big return
or a to the moon return. Seems that those on your
list have more of an element of unknowned in terms
of proven reserves in the ground, and you allocate
enough safety required so that they have already
obtained enough data to say "its there, the metals"
which allows for that big strike. But then Claudes
picks may include some cash rich or loan ability
to get so that they can buy up semi-proven in the
ground reserves and obtain that big win and deliver
to its shareholders a Bre-X $250 share price.

so i wait
wondering if those rotten apples
can be turned into cider
or vinegar
