That is why they bought Qualcomm's infrastructure division.>>

Yes indeed. As you know I try to look ahead as best I can and the Ericsson TDMA to CDMA 2000 paper seemed to indicate an interest in just that - covering the remaining base - CDMA 2000.

Certainly Ericsson is in process of building CDMA in China; now an apparent interest in the business of providing a path for TDMA to CDMA 2000 in Latin America.

In the past, I have often wondered why Ericsson seemed not to be actively promoting CDMA as well as GSM.

In Latin America in particular, when Ericsson people were quoted, it was not in a CDMA context, and usually touting alternatives.

Is this a shift to neutral for Ericsson in Latin America?

(And BTW do you see a shift to neutral in China?)

Will be fun to watch.

Best.

PS When do you suppose Nokia will issue a paper on its proposed path from TDMA to CDMA 2000, so Nokia will have [all the] "Bases covered"?
