glenn, a couple points re: ebay's policy...

does this page have to be on ebay's server? if not, you could put a link on the dexcription page.

i bet you could javascript a link to your site in the e-mail.

same as #1.

link means link. i'd leave the text until i was warned that it was wrong. a reasonable person could conclude url text is not a link.

seems this policy shows ebay's confidence that they can do what they want with no repercussions. i'm not sure they can.
